Technical Lead

April 2026 — present 6 mos 6m

IT consultancy. I build prototypes and internal products, design software architectures, and prepare MVP and production roadmaps for clients.

Across the engagement:

Notable projects:

  • Agentic Systems

    May 2026 — present 5 mos 5m

Design and implementation of LLM-based systems using Anthropic and OpenAI models, including prototypes and production roadmaps.

  • Atlas

    July 2026 — present 3 mos 3m

Platform for measuring and improving AI-assisted development. It collects agent telemetry so teams can evaluate tool use from observed data — where effort actually goes measured in tokens rather than in operator hours. In use with internal teams and one client. Built with Node.js, TypeScript, React, PostgreSQL, Redis and Docker.

  • Pulse

    April 2026 — June 2026 3 mos 3m

Internal project-management platform built with .NET services, DynamoDB and AWS Lambda. Terraform provisions the infrastructure and GitHub Actions handles delivery.

Technical Lead

September 2018 — December 2024 6 yrs 4 mos 6y 4m

SaaS employee-benefits platform. I led three engineers in Singapore inside an engineering group of roughly a hundred across five offices, delivering product features alongside counterparts in the UK, Romania, India and Australia, and shaping the backlog with stakeholders. After Marsh McLennan acquired the business, the team continued under Mercer.

Across the engagement:

Notable projects:

  • Benefits Platform

    September 2018 — December 2024 6 yrs 4 mos 6y 4m

Full-stack feature work on a benefits platform serving around 3.5 million employees. I built the incremental and external reporting pipelines, a benefit-selection API for third parties, and an application-forms subsystem carrying its own domain-specific language from the UI through the services to the database. Six years with no critical production defect from my team, behind release gates for backward compatibility and security.

  • Receipt Recognition Service

    January 2023 — December 2024 2 yrs 2y

Receipt and image recognition on Azure Document Intelligence, flagging disagreements between a claim and its receipt so the operations team no longer read every one by hand. Low-confidence results stay with a person by design, since the decision remains the specialist’s to answer for. A second strand on automated form filling did not leave research while I was there.

  • Frontend Guidelines & Component Library

    January 2021 — December 2024 4 yrs 4y

Cross-office initiative behind the product’s design system: shared front-end guidelines and a component library, delivered automatically to existing components and extended as new ones were promoted into it. It moved the product a long way on consistency, at the cost of rewriting a great deal of existing code to get there.

Lead Architect

February 2013 — September 2018 5 yrs 8 mos 5y 8m

Automotive software company. I joined as a software engineer in 2013, ran workshops and training for application developers, and from late 2015 led three senior engineers in Singapore. The office existed to back a much larger site in Jakarta: we built the delivery tooling and infrastructure, owned the critical components, and seeded hybrid product teams with Singapore engineers.

Across the engagement:

Notable projects:

  • Dealership Platform

    February 2013 — September 2018 5 yrs 8 mos 5y 8m

System design and critical components for the dealership product, which shipped as an enterprise edition and a lighter one for APAC markets — the largest deployment, Nissan in Japan, ran around 50,000 internal users. Singapore took the work other sites could not land, usually processes that would not scale or finish, and the data flow was rebuilt around event messaging to meet its performance targets.

  • Telemetry SaaS

    November 2015 — September 2018 2 yrs 11 mos 2y 11m

Observability and behavioural telemetry gathered from the company’s own product applications and processed with Hadoop and MapReduce over a document store, built by a Scrum team I led. It reached production, then was frozen when Microsoft shipped a competing platform and later retired; parts of it were reused across other products.

  • Dealership Mobile Apps

    November 2015 — September 2018 2 yrs 11 mos 2y 11m

iOS and Android apps for dealership clients, initially built with Cordova and later with native components.

  • Infrastructure & Deployments

    November 2015 — September 2018 2 yrs 11 mos 2y 11m

Operation of on-premises and Azure infrastructure as a hybrid environment, moving from virtual machines to Docker and Kubernetes.

  • TFS Delivery Pipeline

    February 2013 — October 2015 2 yrs 9 mos 2y 9m

Build and release pipelines in Team Foundation Server for on-premises and cloud deployments.

  • Product Testing Framework

    February 2013 — October 2015 2 yrs 9 mos 2y 9m

Automated testing framework built for the dealership product.
